Saudi National Bank, the Kingdom’s largest bank by assets, has appointed Tareq Abdulrahman Al-Sadhan as its group chief executive and a member of the board. He is a veteran of the Saudi financial sector with decades of experience across the industry.
Al-Sadhan leads an institution formed from the merger of National Commercial Bank and Samba Financial Group, a combination that created a lender of national scale.
Before taking the role, he held senior positions across the Saudi banking system, giving him a broad view of the sector he now helps steer. His appointment followed a set of changes at the level of the board and executive management.
The bank sits at the center of Saudi Arabia’s financing needs, supporting large projects tied to the Kingdom’s economic diversification. Its scale means its leadership decisions carry weight across the wider market.
SNB’s shares are among the most heavily weighted on the Saudi Exchange, and changes in its executive leadership are followed closely by investors and analysts across the region.
