Ajman Bank Names Mustafa Al Khalfawi as Chief Executive

Ajman Bank, an Islamic lender based in the emirate of Ajman, is led by chief executive Mustafa Mohammed Saeed Al Khalfawi. He took the role after a long career in UAE banking, including years at the country’s largest lender.

Al Khalfawi joined Ajman Bank from First Abu Dhabi Bank, where he had held senior positions, bringing experience from a much larger institution to the smaller emirate based lender.

He has overseen a period in which Ajman Bank worked to strengthen its financial position and focus its strategy on Islamic banking for retail and corporate customers.

Ajman Bank operates in a competitive UAE market where Islamic and conventional lenders compete for customers. Smaller banks have leaned on local knowledge and targeted services to set themselves apart.

The bank is majority owned by the Government of Ajman and its shares trade on the Dubai Financial Market, where investors follow its performance and leadership.
